Welcome To aCROpolis

I've noticed over the years that many Croatians in the English-speaking world follow events and news headlines in Croatia. Though many speak, read, and write Croatian, many day-to-day events in Croatia aren't interesting as they do not necessarily effect people in the emigration directly - or people simply do not have enough background information to really scope interest.

In light of large events in Croatia, English-speaking outsiders are often forced to read terribly written English articles from popular Croatian news portals on the internet. Though Croatians in Croatia and many organs within Croatia like to pretend that there aren't a few million Croatians around the world who speak, read, and write - even sing! in perfect English, Spanish, Italian etc. I would like to commence polarizing these talents to give our perspective which is often very contrasting from many in today's Croatia.

Since a young age, I was interested in Croatian media as it often completely conflicted with anything that I saw and knew as Croatian; this in turn had me commenting and writing on various forums and portals - and I suddenly realized - that there were people who liked to read what I had to write. Why should index get my click and my business?

Make no mistake, I have no political ambitions in Croatia, I don't care if this thing blows up and actually is bigger than index, and I do not plan on watering down my opinion because of some career opportunity like so many have. Though written in English, this blog is Croatian. When I don't have anything interesting to comment (daily events and opinion pieces) I'll share things that I find interesting regarding Croatian history.

So welcome to aCROpolis, enjoy.
